New Pastor Announced


Wortham First and Kirvin United Methodist Churches are preparing to welcome their new pastor. The Rev. Harris Worcester will arrive in mid-June with June 19th being his first Sunday leading worship here in Wortham.
While Rev. Worcester was born in Gainesville, Florida, he is a graduate of Fort Worth Country Day School. After that he attending Princeton University for both a Bachelors and a Masters in the Romance Languages with a focus in Spanish. In 2004 he earned his Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School.
Prior to becoming a pastor Rev. Worcester has worked in Austin in the Governors Office, served as a County Judge, taught Spanish at the College level, and owned his own business with his wife, Julie Worcester.
Most recently Rev. Worcester has come from Cross Plains United Methodist Church where he served as pastor. Prior to that he served as pastor at several other churches.
Rev. Worcester enjoys playing guitar and singing with his wife. Two of their children are college students and the third will be attending Wortham High School.

This is an exciting time for the church. While wwe will grieve the loss of our pastor of the past three years, we will be in great hands as we continue to grow into the future as God leads.
